Benazir Nashonuma Program Registration 2025 is a helpful plan started by the Government of Pakistan to improve the health of poor families. It mainly supports pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, and children between 6 to 23 months by giving them proper food and care. To join this program, families must already be receiving support from the Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) and live in any part of Pakistan.
The main aim of this program is to fight malnutrition, which happens when people don’t get enough healthy food. Taking care of mothers and young children is very important because they are the foundation of a healthy society.
According to the National Nutrition Survey 2018, nearly 40% of children under 5 years of age in Pakistan suffer from stunted growth due to malnutrition, which prevents them from achieving full physical and mental development. Moreover, about 18% of children under five are underweight for their age.
Pregnant and breastfeeding women also experience various nutritional deficiencies. The first 1,000 days of a child’s life — from conception to the second birthday — are critical. In this period, the government has launched the Nashonuma Programme to ensure better health for pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, and children under two years of age.
