The Government of Punjab has launched a special program under the Punjab Potohar Ginger Cultivation Subsidy Scheme 2025 to increase ginger production in the Potohar region. Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has announced a huge subsidy of Rs. 3.29 million per acre for farmers who grow ginger.
This scheme is open for the years 2025 to 2028, and for the current year 2025-26, applications are invited for ginger cultivation on 10 acres of land. Farmers from eligible Potohar districts can apply before 31st October 2025 to benefit from this golden opportunity.

Eligibility Criteria of Punjab Potohar Ginger Cultivation Subsidy Scheme 2025:
Farmers must fulfill the following conditions:

Must be a resident of Potohar region (eligible districts only)

Must have minimum 1 acre of suitable agricultural land (ownership or leased)

Must commit to growing ginger for at least 10 years

Must have a Kisan Card or be willing to get one within the given time

Land must be free from legal or court disputes

Must have a water source or agree to set up one as per department’s guidance

Must agree to install drip irrigation system as instructed

Must follow the agriculture department’s recommended methods for ginger cultivation

Must provide production data for research and monitoring purposes

Must sign an affidavit agreeing not to challenge the scheme in court
